10 Emo Albums You Need To Hear This Xmas

2016 was a shitty year in many aspects. But in the same time it gave us some really good music. This post won't be enough to talk about all the awesome albums, EPs and songs I heard this year. So, instead I'm gonna focus on some of my favorite emo album that came after my post, "6 Emo Albums You Need To Hear Right Now", which was published six months ago. Since then a lot of good albums were released, some I liked, and others not so much. I might even compile everything in one big post, but for the time being I'll give you a list of 10 awesome albums (and 4 honorable mentions) which if you haven't, it's about time you hear this Christmas. Because let's face it: you have nothing better to do.

Dikembe were wonderful as always. American Football disappointed a bit (but I love them anyways). Ceres, Somos and Marietta dropped surprisingly good albums, that I honestly enjoyed. Touche Amore's Stage Four hit way too close to home. Evan Weiss does not make music, he makes poetry with sweet sounds as evident from his latest release, Standards. Such Gold's Pedestals was my guilty pleasure for the past two months. I never was into Joyce Manor, but Cody changed all that. The more I listened to that album, the more I was getting into it. Light We Made from Balance and Composure is not your typical emo album, there was a bit of experimentation, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gather around, get a bottle of cheap whisky, maybe a joint too, and get sad. Christmas is upon us. Jingle bells, cheesy music, your dad pretending to be Santa, Hone Alone, cinnamon biscuits, eggnogs. Yeah, that shit all over again. Whether you're pissed at Bernie for buying that house, or to Trump for being elected, or to Hilary for everything else, or about Harambe, or about Syria, or Black Lives Matters, or at you for feeling miserable, this playlist is for you.
