Mytrip - new album 'Filament'

'Filament' is the second full-length to come out of Bulgarian dark ambient/ drone artist Mytrip. Following the last year's highly appreciated vinyl debut 'Empty', in this album Angel Simitchiev is delving deeper into his raw and complex soundscapes. This time they are enriched by tense melodies, blurry rhythmic patterns and organic field recordings - made by Silvana Ilieva, who is also responsible for the artwork and the visualisations, supporting the album. But back to the music - this is Mytrip's most emotionally and musically varying release so far, breathing on the thin borderline of ambient, drone and dub. What is new here is that for a first time we hear colors, different than black scale, which is hinted in the artwork too. And these are earthly, warm colors, no matter the harsh intensity in some of the pieces. On the other side, there are tracks like 'Fibre Mask', which with it's creeping pneumatic beats leave you almost breathless at the end. 'Before I end this world I must survive growth' states the artist and the sense of struggle is throughout the whole album.
'Filament' is accompanied by several videos, created again by Silvana Ilieva, which will be revealed on Mytrip's YouTube channel and who will be also used as visualisations in his live performances. You can watch the videos for 'Adaptive' and 'Fibre Mask' below.
