Listening to the Bloody Tourists's debut album "Kink" is like making love to a beautiful woman while driving to the edge of a cliff and not giving a shit about it. That's how bold these guys from Bath, UK sound. Their music is one that can't leave a person passive and still. You'll be sucked into atmosphere of pure rock music fueled with dirty guitar reefs, shameless vocals and catchy songs that you'll make your head spin like you've been high for weeks. "Kink" is twelve track musical extravaganza about the things in life, served to you the hard way. Alcohol, girls, stupid friends, all is here in this awfuly good mixture of 70's rock filled with a pinch of indie music. While listening to "Kink" I couldn't help myself but to think that all the time I was listening to a combination of Led Zeppelin meets The Pixies, and it sounded damn good. One thing I love about this album is the guitar solos in songs like "Gram and a half" and "Shanghai Low". It kinda made me wanna grab a guitar and start playing myself. Good thing I didn't do it, otherwise I'd be in jail by now for disturbing the peace. On the other hand there's a handful of catchy songs like "Pop Song" that'll stuck in your head for weeks. And then there's songs like "Up The Dosage" that embodies best the first line of this review. One just have to listenten the whole album to understand what I'm talking about.Still Bloody Tourists's music definitely awoke the sleeping rock monster in me.Bloody Tourists knows how to stir the water with a music that is clearly inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Pixies and maybe Jimi Hendrix. And the best thing is that they don't try to sound like someone else.
